Ulster-Scots Agency’s After-Schools’ Club Programme

The Ulster-Scots Agency’s After-Schools’ Club programme is designed to provide extra-curricular experiences for children in primary schools which encourage a greater understanding of Ulster-Scots language and culture.

The Agency provides a facilitator to deliver a programme of six workshops, with each approximately 60 – 90 minutes duration.

One workshop must focus on the Ulster-Scots language, but the others can include Highland Bagpipes, Snare Drum, Lambeg Drumming, Highland Dance, Scottish Country Dance, Living History and Fiddle.

This programme is an ‘entry-level’ experience offered by the Agency and it is hoped that schools completing the programme will progress to Flagship status.
