Equality
The Ulster-Scots Agency (the Agency), in carrying out its functions, powers, and duties is fully committed to the fulfillment of its obligation to have due regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity, as required under Section 75 and Schedule 9 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998. The Agency will also have regard to the desirability of promoting good relations between people of different religious belief, political opinion, and racial group.
The Agency believes that fulfilling the aim and objectives of an equality agenda is best served through a determined commitment to actively promote equality of opportunity within its working environment and will allocate the necessary resources (in terms of people, time and money) to achieve this.
Our Disability Action Plan is currently under review and will be published in due course.
